Prompt handling.
When WTF is enabled in Claude Code, ordinary submitted text goes to WTF’s service on Cloudflare, then to OpenAI for rewriting. WTF passes the resulting text to Claude Code for its model request. WTF pays for the rewrite during the invited beta.
The live website demo
The prefilled examples are written illustrations. Loading the page and switching examples do not send a prompt. Clicking Rewrite sends the text to WTF and OpenAI. The result streams back to your browser; the website does not send it to Claude. You can copy the result yourself.
Voice input
The microphone starts only when you tap it and allow access. Stop recording to send up to 30 seconds of audio to WTF and OpenAI for transcription. Recording stops automatically at 30 seconds. Canceling, leaving the page, or switching away stops the microphone. Cancel before transcription to discard the recording without sending it.
Your transcript appears in the editable prompt. It is not rewritten until you press the arrow. WTF does not save recordings or transcripts in a database or application logs. OpenAI’s API data policies apply to audio as well as text. There are up to 3 voice attempts per network per day, separate from the 3 rewrites. Both use the same shared demo spending cap. Failed transcription attempts count. Recordings canceled before upload do not.
The demo allows up to 3 rewrite attempts per network address per day, resetting at midnight UTC, with a separate shared allowance. People on the same network may share this limit. WTF stores only a daily keyed hash of the address and usage counters, not the raw address. These daily records are replaced when a new day’s request arrives. The overall spending counter does not reset. Failed and interrupted requests count as attempts. Demo text is held only while processing and displaying the response, and is not saved by WTF in a database or application logs.
What WTF keeps
WTF does not save prompt text or rewritten text in a database or application logs. Live translations stay in service memory for up to 60 seconds so your authenticated plugin can display progress; they can disappear sooner if the service restarts. The service stores a hash of each access key, its invitation label, expiry, access status, and usage counters. Counters include recent request times for rate limits. The plain access key is returned only when an invitation is created.
Claude stores the access key through its sensitive plugin configuration. The plugin stores your selected mode locally through Claude’s plugin storage. The panel keeps only the latest original and translation in session memory; reloading the plugin clears them. Claude controls its own conversation history, logs, and telemetry.
What the providers process
Cloudflare processes requests to run the service and may retain operational metadata. OpenAI receives the original prompt for rewriting. For rewriting, WTF uses the API with response storage disabled; this is not a promise of zero provider retention. OpenAI’s API data policies still apply. Anthropic’s policies govern what Claude Code sends and stores.
What the plugin changes
WTF rewrites ordinary text from local macOS Desktop Code sessions, the terminal composer, and supported headless submissions. It does not rewrite slash commands, attachments, existing conversation history, automated messages, or Remote Control messages. Quoted source and code are kept verbatim. Other installed plugins can see prompts before WTF runs.
If WTF is loaded and enabled but cannot produce a rewrite, it blocks that submission. Choosing “off,” disabling the plugin, or using an unsupported surface sends messages through Claude’s usual flow. WTF cannot guarantee identical meaning or make claims about all network traffic.
Access and removal
Invitations are private, limited, individually revocable, and expire after 30 days. Ask the person who issued your invitation to revoke access or remove your invitation record. Uninstalling the plugin does not erase provider records. Don’t submit secrets or confidential material you cannot share with these providers.
The website uses no advertising or analytics scripts and does not keep prompts in browser storage. Reloading clears your live demo text.
